In this part, students also cover how for centuries western academics grouped together completely unrelated cultures as ‘black’ and see that recent DNA discoveries have shown that there is more human genetic diversity in the whole of sub-Saharan Africa than there is in the entire rest of the world. Part 2) More of a traditional Black History session, looking at the origins of the month, back to its conception in America, the Civil Rights movement and including reading comprehension tasks and clips with differentiated questioning. This resource pack includes a one hour long PowerPoint with accompanying worksheets, well differentiated activities, literacy focus tasks, clip tasks with three-way differentiated questions and information sheets.
